Relationships between Exposure to Media Violence and Loneliness in College Students

大学生暴力媒体接触与孤独感的关系*

Abstract: This study aimed at examine the relationship between media violence and loneliness among college students, we employed Media Habits Questionnaire and UCLA Loneliness Scale as tools. The results showed that, 1) Media violence is significantly related with loneliness, while the relationship between media contact frequency and loneliness is not significant. 2)College students are more exposed to violence on TV than movies and computer games. The extent of violence exposure is significantly related to gender; the interaction effects between gender and grade is also significant. 3)Frequency of media violence exposure is significantly related to the type of media, gender and grade.

摘要: 以探索暴力媒体接触与孤独感之间的关系为主要目的,使用媒体接触习惯问卷和UCLA孤独量表进行问卷调查。结果发现:(1)大学生接触媒体的暴力程度与孤独感有显著正相关,而媒体接触频率与孤独感则无显著相关。(2)大学生接触电视剧暴力程度最高,其次是电影,暴力程度最低的是电脑游戏;大学生接触媒体暴力程度有显著的性别差异,性别和年级的交互作用边缘显著。(3)大学生媒体接触频率有显著的媒体类别、性别和年级差异。
