Abstract: Driving fatigue can cause huge casualties and property losses. It is of great significance to devise effective methods to reduce driving fatigue. In this experiment, drivers were asked to complete a monotonous driving task for one hour in a driving simulator to induce driving fatigue, while subjective fatigue, driving performance and theta wave power of brain were recorded to explore whether interesting auditory materials could alleviate driving fatigue. The results showed that drivers who listened to the auditory material had higher theta wave power than the control group did, indicating that listening to the auditory material is not conducive to reducing driving fatigue.
