The Influence of Ego Depletion on Self-Other Risk Decision-Making Under Different Task Frames

Abstract

Abstract: This research explored the effects of ego depletion and the variation of framing effects after depletion on self-other risk-based decision-making processes. The investigation applied the Balloon Analogue Risk Task (BART), a more realistic and dynamic measure. Meanwhile, the study assessed the participants’ appetite for risk in the context of ego depletion under different task frames. The results showed that: 1) Significant differences existed in risk-related decision-making processes that impacted the self and others. Additionally, individuals took more risks when making decisions for themselves. 2) Ego depletion affected decision-making in risky scenarios, specifically, individuals showed greater risk aversion after ego depletion. 3) Ego depletion increased the sensitivity of the framing effect in risk-related decision-making.

摘要： 为探究自我损耗对自我-他人风险决策的影响以及损耗后框架效应的变化，采用生态效度较高的气球模拟风险决策任务考察个体在自我损耗及不同任务框架下的风险偏好。结果发现：（1）自我-他人风险决策存在显著差异，为自己决策更冒险；自我损耗影响自我-他人风险决策，损耗后个体表现出更多的风险厌恶。（2）在自我-他人风险决策中，自我损耗增加了框架效应的敏感性。
