Abstract: Considerable data obtained form brain science research demonstrated that the impact of stress on hippocampal-dependent declarative memory was modulated through stress hormones, especially the Glucocorticoid. The direction of this effect, however, depends on many factors, such as the elevated glucocorticoid levels and the different phases of memory. There are differences in the effects of stress on the different phases of memory are dependent on the integrity of the basolateral amygdala. Therefore, educators should have scientific knowledge of the impairing effects of stress on memory and make good use of its beneficial effects to improve the students′ learning efficiency.
