    Abstract ( )   PDF (769KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
16 English learners participated in a mixed language lexical decision task. The English or Chinese words were presented in the prime trials, and they were presented again on the subsequent probe trials(within and between languages). The amplitude of N400 was compared among the first presented words of all the word-pairs, the second words in within language repeated priming word-pairs and between languages repeated word-pairs. The results suggest that, the difference of the repeated priming effects was not significant between L1-L1 and L2-L2, but asymmetry repeated priming effects were found in L1-L2 and L2-L1, The repeated priming effect from English to Chinese was significantly larger than that from Chinese to English, which was kind of inconsistent with the asymmetry model of bilingual representations.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (642KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
In 1970s, resilience study began to draw psychologists′ attention. A few years ago chinese psychologists put up some interests in resilience study and made some efforts. But lacking of research instruments limited the prevalence of resilience study. Based on these actualities, Healthy Kids Resilience Assessment(HKRA)was imported and revised in China in this research. 884 junior middle school students(boys 468; girls 416)of grade 2 took part in the study. Using explorative factor analysis, 7 external protective factors and 4 resilience traits were confirmed. The loads of items on relevant factors distributed from 0.34 to 0.88. Reliability coefficient(α)distributed between 0.62 and 0.84. Cumulative percent of variance was 55.77%. Statistical analysis indicated the scale satisfied the requirements of reliability and validity, and it can be used in China for measurement of resilience.

According to the theory of hardiness and Chinese social culture,we developed an Hardiness Scale(HS). Based on the results of interviews, former hardiness scale and so on, the items of HS were originally confirmed. Four dimensions and 27 items were determined in the scale through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The data analysis suggests that HS has the valid reliability and validity and is adapted for testing people′s personality traits of hardiness.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (487KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
In this article, we chose subjects strictly by experiment of stroop-interference and investigated the performance of high and low controlled-attention capacity subjects in working memory span tasks that cognitive loads of processing are different. The results showed tasks complexity and processing speed have effects on performance of working memory span tasks, the more complex the task and faster the processing speed, the lower the performance. In more complex and faster tasks, the performance of high subjects were higher than the low, but these effects were not significant in more simple and slower tasks.

Safety culture is a sub-facet of organizational culture, which affects members′ safety attitudes and behavior in relation to an organizations ongoing health and safety performance. Most researchers study the dimensionality of aviation safety culture through surveying people′s safety attitudes and values, which not only can reveal the basic assumptions underlying those phenomena, but also is helpful to understand the vital role of the specific cultural factors in the aviation safety management. The present study introduced the relationship between safety culture and aviation safety management, and addressed the function of safety culture and it′s assessment in different aviation organizations. The current limitation and the future direction of the aviation safety culture research are discussed.

    2008, 6(2):  144-149.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (655KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
Phonological deficit is one of the key reasons in dyslexia. The research studies on the brain science indicated that the dyslexia in alphabetic writing systems had phonological processing deficit in the neural mechanism, including the parieto-temporal-occipital region and inferior frontal cortex. However, the cerebral activation pattern of the phonological processing is different from the Chinese dyslexia, which involved the left middle frontal gyrus and some cortical regions in right hemisphere. Based on thi, the counter-measures of the teaching were proposed.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (615KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
Considerable data obtained form brain science research demonstrated that the impact of stress on hippocampal-dependent declarative memory was modulated through stress hormones, especially the Glucocorticoid. The direction of this effect, however, depends on many factors, such as the elevated glucocorticoid levels and the different phases of memory. There are differences in the effects of stress on the different phases of memory are dependent on the integrity of the basolateral amygdala. Therefore, educators should have scientific knowledge of the impairing effects of stress on memory and make good use of its beneficial effects to improve the students′ learning efficiency.
