    Abstract ( )   PDF (538KB) ( )   References | Related Articles | Metrics
Fifteen film episodes and eight news segments were used to examine the retrospective time memory. The film episodes and the news events were broadcasted at the same time. Participants were asked to recall the temporal locus (when), the temporal order, temporal duration of the episodes and news events 4 days after the broadcast. Participants had better recall accuracy for film episodes than for news events in terms of their temporal order. They also recalled more actuarially for 7-minutes duration and 15-minutes duration than for 30-minutes duration. They tended to overestimate the 7-minutes duration, but underestimate 30-minutes duration. They also had high accuracy for film episodes than for news when they were asked to recall the temporal locus of those events. The accuracy of time memory was affected significantly by personal involvement of the participants. Materials with high personal involvement tended to produce more accurate memory for temporal order and temporal locus. Retrospective memory for duration was influenced by interactions of true duration length and delaying days. Memory for temporal order fit in with hierarchical network model. Under the condition of lack of consideration, it tends to be represented by linearity model.

Mental health diathesis is a new concept, which was based on the research of competence education and mental health education. In this current work, we demonstrated the practical significance and the theoretical basis of the mental health diathsis, explored the content and theoretical structure of it, and explained the meanings of all elements in it. In addition, the factors influenced the mental health diathesis were discussed.

We investigated the mental health diathesis and its structure by interviewing the psychologists, the teachers who are in university or school, the university students and the students in primary and high school. Most of them think that the mental health diathesis is mental quality, the mental diathesis of healthy people. They also think that mental health diathesis must accord with the normal standard in thinking, emotion, and behavior. Most of the sample also think one′s ability and character are the central parts of the mental health diathesis.

The central issue of nowdays′ educational reform in the whole world is to improve people′s diathesis. Thus, the main purpose of education is all round development of people′s diathesis. The concept of quality education extends not only the connotation but also the extension of diathesis to its traditional meaning. The concept of diathesis consists of three different components: natural quality, social diathesis, mental diathesis. Thus, quality education should also include these above three aspects. Furthermore, quality education means to develop people′s all round capacity and quality through the improvement of social diathsis and mental diathesis. Mental diathesis is the core of quality education.

Research on the cognitive style commenced in 1940s. Different researchers put forward different theories of cognitive style, and the theory of multi-dimension was integrated from single dimension in 1980′s. The applied fields of cognitive style have extended from education to occupation approach, which result in a wider research range of cognitive style.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the types of Chinese children′s temperament from age 3 to 9. In the first study, based on the questionnaire of children, Cluster Analysis was conducted using SPSS in attempt to testify the types of Chinese Children. In the second study, a follow-up study on 140 children′s temperament was conducted by using observation and interview. The results show that Chinese children can be divided into five types: activity, attention, inhibition, mean and agility, and every type has its own characteristics.

The purpose of the current work was to investigate the transfer effect of information storing during the reading process of the subjects with different levels of reading comprehension. The task for the subjects was to read the articles twice with the same structure or the same content. The results were as follows:(1)Both the structure and content had facilitated effect on the transfer of information storing, and the content effect was greater.(2)The levels of reading comprehension influenced the transfer effect of information storing which suggest that the subjects with different levels of reading comprehension showed differences in information storing both in structure and content.

The mate-selection preferences of men have changed obviously in China in the last 15 years, but the criterions are still impacted by Chinese traditional thoughts on mate-selection.

Stevens′s law was used to observe the influence of geometry-characters and topology-characters of figures in similarity judgment and categorization in the current work. What the results show are as follows: First, geometry-characters and topology-characters of figures made great influence in similarity judgment and categorization. Second, under untachistoscopic vision, geometry-characters of figures were the foundations in similarity judgment obviously, on the contrary, vision means made less importance in similarity judgment. Third, the gender difference made influence on topology-characters of figures in similarity judgment. Fourth, under either vision, the more broaden of geometry-characters of figures, the less changing geometry-characters of figures, and the less similar reports in similarity judgment.
