The Relationship Between Parenting Types and Adolescent Internet Addiction: The Mediating Role of Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies

父母教养方式类型与青少年网络成瘾的关系:认知情绪调节策略的中介作用

Abstract: To examine the latent profiles of paternal and maternal parenting style and their association with internet addiction as well as the mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies between them, this study surveyed 4091 middle school students in Chongqing, China. All the participants completed the related questionnaires, including the Parenting Style Questionnaire, the Cognitive Emotional Regulation Strategy Questionnaire, and the Internet Addiction Questionnaire. The results showed that: 1) There were three profiles of paternal parenting style as well as maternal parenting style, including positive, mixed, and negative profiles respectively. 2) Compared with the mixed parenting style, the positive parenting style significantly and negatively predicted internet addiction. 3) Adaptive and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies played as a mediator between positive parenting style and internet addiction when the mixed parenting style was regarded as a reference group. Maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies mediated the relationship between negative parenting style and internet addiction when the mixed parenting style was regarded as a reference group.

摘要: 为探讨父亲和母亲教养方式的潜在类型与青少年网络成瘾的关系并检验认知情绪调节策略在其中的作用,采用父母教养方式问卷、认知情绪调节策略问卷和网络成瘾问卷对重庆市4091名中学生进行调查。结果表明:(1)父亲和母亲均存在三种潜在教养类型,即积极型、混合型和消极型;(2)与父母混合型教养类型相比,父母积极型教养类型显著负向预测网络成瘾;(3)以父母混合型教养类型作为参照组,适应性和非适应性认知情绪调节策略在父母积极型教养类型与网络成瘾之间存在中介作用,非适应性认知情绪调节策略在父母消极型教养类型与网络成瘾之间存在中介作用。
