背景音乐对中学生阅读理解的影响

THE EFFECTS OF BACKGROUND MUSIC ON THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS′ READING COMPREHENSION

摘要: 以初一、初二、高一、高二72名中学生为研究对象,考察不同类型音乐对有无背景音乐偏好被试阅读理解成绩的影响。实验结果表明:(1)不同类型背景音乐对不同年级被试产生了不同的影响。古典乐对4个年级被试的阅读理解均有显著的促进作用;而流行乐对初中生的阅读理解产生了干扰作用,对高中生则没有产生干扰作用。(2)不同类型背景音乐对不同背景音乐偏好被试产生了不同的影响。对有背景音乐偏好被试来讲,古典乐对他们的阅读理解有显著的促进作用,流行乐对他们的阅读理解无显著的干扰作用;对无背景音乐偏好被试来讲,古典乐对他们的阅读理解既无显著的促进作用,也无显著的干扰作用,而流行乐对他们的阅读理解有显著的干扰作用。

Abstract: We investigated the effects of different types of background music on reading comprehension. 72 participants were from 4 grades, including the Grade 1 and Grade 2 of junior high school and the Grade 1 and Grade 2 of senior one. One half of them prefer listening to music when they study, the other half don′t like listening to it. The results of the experiment were as follows:(1)Different types of background music had different effects on participants of different grades. Classical music had significantly positive effects on both the junior students′ reading comprehension and the seniors′, however, pop music had negative effects on the junior students′ reading comprehension, but not for the senior students′.(2)Different types of background music had different effects on participants who had background music preference and those who hadn′t background music preference. For participants who had background music preference, classical music had significantly positive effects on reading comprehension, pop music hadn′t significantly negative effects on reading comprehension. For participants who hadn′t background music preference, classical music had no significantly effects on reading comprehension, and pop music had significantly negative effects on reading comprehension.
